So if you’re a huge Marvel fan, you have probably already heard of Marvel’s Captain America sequel; The Winter Soldier. Maybe you’re even planning on going to see one of the midnight releases today, or you’re planning on seeing it in theaters when it officially releases in the United States tomorrow!
If you haven’t heard much about Captain America: The Winter Soldier, here’s a very basic overview of what the movie is going to be about:
“After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy-the Winter Soldier.” (from Google.com.)
The movie cast includes Chris Evans once more as Captain America/Steve Rogers, Scarlett Johansson once more as the Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, Samuel L. Jackson once more as Director Nick Fury; as well as Sebastian Stan as Bucky, and Anthony Mackie as the Falcon/Sam Wilson. Cobie Smulders also comes back to reprise her role as Maria Hill — we haven’t seen her since The Avengers. Last but not least, Hayley Atwell plays Peggy Carter. The movie is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
It is currently getting a Rotten Tomatoes score of 91%, and gets a score of 8.2 out of 10 points on IMDb’s website.
If you’re planning to watch the movie in theaters, make sure to stay for the credits! There is supposedly a mid-credit scene as well as an after-credit scene that you’ll want to watch out for. And if you try to spot the Stan Lee cameos in all the movies? Hint: Stan Lee is supposed to play a Smithsonian guard, according to IMDb.
So, is anyone going to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Or are you going to wait for the movie to come out on DVD?
